Comprehensive upgrade and modernisation of 361 km of the Pátzcuaro–Uruapan–Lázaro Cárdenas toll road network under a 30-year concession. Cointer manages the Michoacán Package, the largest road concession in the company’s portfolio. The 30-year contract includes the construction, modernisation, maintenance and operation of 361.4 km of the Pátzcuaro–Uruapan–Lázaro Cárdenas toll road, of which 273.2 km are existing roads, and 89.2 km are newly built sections. The full lengths of the Pátzcuaro–Uruapan–Lázaro Cárdenas highway and the Morelia Bypass are currently in operation, with 8 toll plazas and 55 toll lanes. The concession records an average daily traffic (ADT) of 5,000 vehicles, rising to 9,000 on the Pátzcuaro–Uruapan section. The concessionaire employs 280 people and generates annual revenues of approximately €48.5 million. Main works include the comprehensive upgrade of the Pátzcuaro–Uruapan–Lázaro Cárdenas corridor, the construction of the Morelia (64.1 km) and Uruapan (25.2 km) bypasses, the widening to dual carriageway between Pátzcuaro and Uruapan (56.7 km), and the upgrading and extension of more than 150 km towards Lázaro Cárdenas. The project also includes 10 unique steel bridges and 2 service areas.
