ZEAL is a pioneering logistics platform within the Chilean port system that facilitates the inspection and management of cargo handled through the Port of Valparaíso. The Logistics Support Extension Zone (ZEAL) was developed to increase the capacity of the Port of Valparaíso – Chile’s main cargo and passenger port – supporting cargo inspection operations carried out by various public authorities. ZEAL is located 14 kilometres from the Port of Valparaíso and covers an area of 30.4 hectares. It is divided into two zones: the18-hectare Obligatory Activities Zone (OAZ), dedicated to inspection activities and vehicle parking; and the 8-hectare Special Services Zone(SSZ), with an additional 4-hectare area reserved for future expansion, designed for complementary services where further investments will be made to continue enhancing port capacity. This area houses cargo inspection support operations carried out by authorities such as the National Customs Service (SNA), the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the National Fisheries Service and the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Health.
The Special Services Zone (SSZ) is designed to provide value-added services to cargo, improving capacity, productivity and efficiency in port and logistics operations.
