ZEAL Port of Valparaíso
The Logistics Support Extension Zone (ZEAL) in the Port of Valparaíso (Chile’s main freight and passenger port) was established to to increase this port’s capacity, carrying out support operations for various public agencies in the control and auditing of the cargo.
The contract set a 10 year concession period, extendable up to 30. The investment was € 32.5 million.
ZEAL is 14 kilometres from Valparaiso Port and is divided into two zones: the ZAO (Obligatory Activities Zone), which has a total surface area of 18 hectares, for tax support work and the parking of vehicles and the ZSE (Special Service Zone) which has a total surface area of 8 hectares (and 4 hectares sector for future extensions), for supplementary services, where there will be additional investments to continue increasing the capacity of the Port.

Tax support work of goods for organisations as the National Customs Service, the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), the United States Department of Health and Agriculture, the National Fisihing Service and the Health Ministerial Regional Secretary are being carried out. - Special Services Area
The Special Services Area, ZSE, is designed to provide cargo services which bring added value, capacity, productivity and efficiency to the port and logistics services.
